Gabriel Obertan could make his competitive debut for Manchester United on Saturday when the champions face Bolton Wanderers. The French midfielder played 45 minutes for the reserves last week and could find himself in the mix this weekend. Wayne Rooney is out injured, while Berbatov is expected to miss the game due the birth of his daughter in Bulgaria. Fit again Michael Owen should start, as should Edwin Van der Sar, who has recovered from his thumb injury.
For Bolton, the only major concern is Sam Ricketts who, like Rooney, picked up an injuring during the international break. Bolton will be looking to get at least a point from this game; something they haven’t achieved in their last six league games at Old Trafford. Even though games between these two Greater Manchester sides are always fiercely contested, I expect United to run away comfortably with a 2-0 win.
